1) Get the owner's manual.
2) Read it from cover to cover.

You will have your answers.

Don't get an SVT810 unless you have a dedicated van for moving it. Thing is heavy as all hell and a beast to move. I would try to find a good deal on a used SVT 2-PRO and get a nice 4x10 to go with it. More than enough.

Silly Answers to Stupid Questions dept...

How DARE you refer to any of us as ******* ****s were are ***** *****s, or ******-**** *******s and perhaps on occasion some of us might be *** ***** ***** ************** ***s.

The simple answer to your stoopid question is;
The speaker plugs into the back of the amp and the instrument plugs into the front of the amp. Also the long cord with the two flat prongs and one round one goes to the wall.

But if you are really that cluless the real questions are,
"Who started up that computer for you?"

and

"Why not just have the same person who hooks up your combo, tunes your bass and drives you to practice just do this for you as well?"

Of course you just may be an idiot savant with a severe lack of savant.

I've seen one fit in a hyundai sedan. With room for one passenger.

As to the original question... the speaker you plug into the speaker out jack on the back of the amp, and into the input jack on the back of the cab. You plug your instrument into the input on the front of the amp.

Yeah if you need more power Ampeg kicks butt! I would too suggest reading the manual if you are not sure how or where cables and other hook-ups need to go. Just make sure you never power it up unless it is hooked up to a speaker cab. As was mention it is one heavy mother vans and trucks are best to move it if you need to move it in a car make sure the weight is over the back axle. Found out the hard way broke a shock.Lastly I thought this was a place where bass players old and new could get and share information! Not everyone knows as much as you all do, some more than others. Some of you most liking can't even set up your remote. So give people the benefit of the doubt a new guy comes in and asks a question either step in and answer because you know or don't comment. Yeah note the first thing he said was he has been using combos so he did not have to hook up and speakon cables before now. And came to all of us who know for advise a what happens you shoot him down sad.

I think I'm with the majority here.

Wouldn't you get answers quicher if you just did a search on the Amp you were buying...or search for the manual?
Thats the 1st thing I do when I'm even considering buying something..download the manual...then read it...and sometimes I don't buy the gear..but still have the manuals.

Theres only 1 cable more ,with that setup, than would be in a combo.

Maybe Its me, (maybe I'm just a Genius)...but I thought it was kinda obvious ...that and the speaker out is usually labeled.

Not trying to insult..but c'mon now.

Awww, geee... too dense to 1)RTFM, and/or 2)use google, or 3)look at the back of the amp.

You'll be sorely missed.

4) use any sort of punctuation, or
5) the shift key, and
6) construct a cohesive sentence
