Need Help with speaker wireing

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm trying to figur out how can a cab with two 4-Ohm speakers and a horn be an 8-Ohm cab? Two 4-Ohm speakers connected in series will make an 8-Ohm cab, but how does the horn get figured/connected in this? (Eden 210XLT)

horn and woofers are separated by a crossover under x hertz goes to the woofers over x hertz goes to the horn 2 4ohm woofers can be wired in 2 ohm or 8 ohmsso you would wire them in 8 ohm to match the 8 ohm horn and use a crossover designed for an 8ohm system

+1. The existing crossover is designed for the original impedance of the cab. If you change the impedance, then you must replace the crossover.

I understand how series and parallel wiring works, so how can you get an 8 ohm cab out of two 4 ohm speakers + an 8 ohm horn?

since the horn is connected to the XO, its impedance doesn't enter into the overall cab's impedance. the impedance of the cab is based on the impedance of the woofers.
