Unless it's a fuse, it will need to be repaired by a tech

I assume you checked the fuse? Mine did that one time.....and that's all it was. I have no idea what caused it.....but I replaced the fuse and it's been good since.

I think this can happen when the wiring at the plug is not phased properly. If the live and neutral are reversed from what the amp was last used on it sends a surge thru the system. Hopefully the fuse protected the amp. I actually carry a circuit tester to verify the wiring is correct before hooking up but I am a bit paranoid. 50% of the electricians out there graduated in the bottom half of their class and there are a lot of DIY electricians/maintenance peeps.

Possibly a capacitor blew up. That is about the sound they make.

An amp tech is your friend.

yep, I saw your post, and the first reply, and thought to myself "That's all the info we get from the OP?" Then I figured, "Well he probably doesn't HAVE a lot more to tell", and I saw that reply #1 pretty much said it all......

So all you needed was reply #1.

I know the innards of that amp pretty well, since I was there when it was designed, although I didn't design that one..... But from "heard a sort of a loud snap and then there was no power", I can think of at least 5 or 6 different things that could be the problem.

A technician can determine what is ACTUALLY wrong, and fix it for you. What more is there to say?

BTW, what AMOK said, if I understand the meaning correctly, is not correct......
