Need help with SWR Baby Blue II

Sign in to disble this ad
Guys, I need some advice.

I have a friend who is holding a fundraiser for his two kids with cystic fibrosis on Saturday. He asked if I had a PA he could borrow for a live auction. I don't.

But I do have an SWR Baby Blue II and a microphone cable (that I use on the XLR out to go into a PA).

Question: The front of the amp only has 1/4" inputs. Is there an adapter I can use with a mic cable so he can plug a mic in and use this amp as a makeshift PA? It's a small room -- he just wants to be able to amplify his voice.

Thanks for your help!!

You'll have to purchase a Switchcraft or Radio Shack plug with a impedance transformer it's relatively inexpensive and will work fine for small venues.

Looks like your question has been answered, but just wanted to add MAJOR kudos for helping out with the CF fundraiser. As the uncle of two kids with CF, one of whom is in the hospital right now, it's REALLY appreciated. Give my best to your buddy and his children.

This, or borrow a high impedance mic & cord. They used to be fairly common, so older players are likely to have one laying around that hasn't been used for decades.

The BBII makes a great little P.A. system. I've used it in that application many times. It also makes a fine powered monitor.
