Need Help wiring new Speakers for SVT610HLF Cab

Sign in to disble this ad
I began this project here:
How to get a 6x10 cab to 6 ohms

After speaking with folks here and Eminence tech support I went ahead
and purchased 6 Eminence Basslite s2010 neo's to put in my
Ampeg SVT610HLF.

How do I wire it up?

The original cab has 6ohm speakers that end up at a 4ohm cab.

These S2010's are 8ohms and if I wire it up the way I've been told
I will end up with a 5.3ohm cab.

Can I keep the cab wired up the same way as it was originally
and end up with 5.3ohms with the six 8ohm speakers?

Thanks,
Rick

Thanks

Old thread but to answer the OPs question wire it series/parallel just like they were originally. I did the same with a 610HLF I had the had a few blown speakers. Replaced them all, wired series parallel for 5.3 ohms. It worked fine but I ended up moving onto other cabs. If you're looking to spruce up a 610HLF with a few bum speakers I'd order the OEM replacements from fliptops or orange county (or whoever else carries them) before I'd go popping in any old replacement speaker.
