need new amp (head) conunndrum.. help!!

Ok all, I need some help. here is the deal. I am in the Boston Area, and believe it or not, I really can not find any decent stores that carry a good line up of amps to try out.

I have an SWR electric blue. That I have had forever and love. but it's just not powerful enough. I got rid of all my BIG amps over the years, Trace, GT preamp w/ 1600 watt powers. And just recently I got rid of my Iamp 600.

I am looking for something both modern and warm. The Iamp was too clean/ sterile. The trace was great. the Groove tubes (swr pre) with tons of power was perfect.

So, I am thinking that I like that SWR sound and just looking for something bigger than I have.

Is the SWR headlight the way to go? Si there a different micro out there that captures a lot of that same sound better/ cheaper?

Or should I just stay with the electric blue and add power amps?

Go find a Mesa Boggie dealer. Try anything from their bass line. I dont think you will like the M6 Carbine, but you may. Its really clean and somewhat sterile, but that can be fixed by cranking the preamp past 1pm. The V-12 Titan sounds like it would fit your needs a little better, but they quit making them. But there are still shops that have some old stock on hand. Worth checking out, believe me.
