Need New Cab Suggestions!

Sign in to disble this ad
What I need is an 8 ohm cab that can be loud enough to compete with 2 guitarist and a fairly loud drummer. It would also need to pair well with a Markbass 104HR cabinet and LMIII head. Sounds simple doesn't it?

Here's the catch: It has to be able to fit in the front seat or trunk of my 2010 Camaro, and as cheap as possible!

put your bass in the front seat, and get a second 104hr and put them both in the back.

The Camaro (reissue or original) will get beat up if you keep stuffing it with cabs and such. Rips, tears and such will magically appear. I realize it's a cool car and will get you in with the ladies, but what did you think was going to happen when it came to hauling your rig?

Small, cheap, loud cab? That works well with your current rig? IMO, unless you test the cabs yourself, who knows.

The insurance is crazy and it gets 22 mpg gotta make up the difference somewhere haha.

There's no way that I could ever get a 410 in the back seat. Maybe I should go for a 2x112 rig?

Markbass NY604 or Orange SP212 will both fit in your Camero and put out lots of sound for small cabs. In comparison to your Camero, they"re quite cheap. I can fit these two cabs, my bass, and my Tiny Terror into my Solstice.

how do you transport the 410 now? honestly, unless your band is just insanely loud, i see no reason the lmii/104hr wouldn't work by itself.

sheesh, you fancy car guys sure make life difficult for yourselves!

I transport the 410 with a car that, compared to the camaro, I hate to drive. I really only need the 410 for gigs, so I'm not nessacerily adding the cab for volume, but for practice. I think it would be great to be able to go to practice in the camaro and get by with a cab I can carry in one hand.

I think it's the "cheap" part that will hold you back. Lots of cool, light weight, new cab$ available. You might want to check out the following links: Micro-rigs of doom >30 light-weight cabs, amps, combos

Cheap usually means older and much heavier. If you find a cheaper/older cab, maybe you can leave it at your rehearsal space.

You didn't say how cheap is cheap so you might want to check out Avatar cabs. Many Tbr's have them.

Is it possible to get a Schroeder 1210 for like $500? That's about max for my budget.

I just replaced 2 Aguilar GS112's with 1 Avatar B210 and it's seems louder or at least cuts thru better in my band in our rehearsal room that eats bass. Don't know how big your trunk is but it fits in the backseat or trunk of my '02 Accord Sedan and would probably fit upright n the passengers seat if I need it too. Their SB112's sound great too and seem to cut thru very well so a pair of them may not be a bad idea.
