Need a new case/rack for my head... soft or not?

Hi all,

After a good 10 years of (ab)use my SKB 2U hardcase is *really* on its way out... so I need a good replacement for it and I was thinking of going the 'soft case' route... has anyone any experience with these things?

MILLENIUM RACKBAG3 - Thomann Belgian Cyberstore
ROCKBAG ROCKBAG RB 24310 B - Thomann Belgian Cyberstore
PROTEC PRO PAC 19" CASE 3 HE - Thomann Belgian Cyberstore

It's for an SWR SM-400s amp which is 2U high (12kg) but I thought of going the extra 1U route for ventilation.. This case will be used +100 times a year and will be exposed to some rougher situations so I don't want to buy a soft case and after 6 months another one..

TIA,
Herwig

I'd only use a soft case when I'm the only one handling my gear. If you've worn through your last hard case and expect the new rack to live through some hard duty, I'd definitely avoid a soft case.

The need of a hardcase is real. Go for one.
