Need a stupid simple tiltback combo for practice - Backline 112?

I'm regretting that I got rid of my Tech21 Landmark 60 - it was one of the first models that was in a tiltback enclosure. I sold it a few years back after I picked up a G-K MB150E-112.

The MB150E is a great combo, but I wish it were a little more basic and friendly for solo living room practice - it's really designed for performance, not woodshedding. It doesn't kickback without a stand nor does it have an easy way of piping a CD player in. I'm not planning on getting rid of it (it's too easy to grab for jamming at friend's houses), but it's wretched overkill for my living room.

Now that I'm moving over to an MB500 with 12s for my main rig, I'm thinking about a new practice combo. I want it to have a kickback enclosure (I have to stand < 10 feet from where the combo goes) and also have a CD in. It also has to handle a low B at typical solo practice volume levels.

It looks like the discontinued G-K Backline 112 might be a good choice. Past posts don't seem to uncover any warts so long as it's used for the intended purpose.

Is it worth looking for one of these? The only other combo I've found that looks like it could possibly twist my knickers is a Fender B-DEC.

They're not tiltback designs, but the Fender Rumble 100's 1x15 and 2x10 are pretty good for what you're looking for it to do. They're pretty versatile as far as tone shaping goes, they both handle the low B adequately, and have a CD input jack on them. I liked them because they're a pretty solid amp that worked well (for me) with practicing, rehearsing, and gigging, without breaking the bank.

Check out the swr workinman 10" combo. Been usin one for a month and its pretty stupid simple. Bass, mid, treble, midscooper, phone jack, direct out in the back. Has a flipout stand on the bottom for angling upwards. Decent tone. Loud enough for a lot of situations, In fact, I just came back from a bar gig last night and it was the only thing I used.

Guys - thanks for the input, but I'm looking specifically for comments on the Backline 112...

The Backline 112 is a great little combo. I still have one, it's out on loan to a friend (who uses it for guitar and bass hilariously enough--metal guy).

It's very very loud but has very little actual bass. The distortion is very usable in a band context and makes it even louder.

It's what I'd use if I joined a quieter band with less bloomy bottom required.

I ended up going a different direction for this... a used Fender B-DEC. Talking to a few owners convinced me it was what I needed for woodshedding.
