I found a Genz Benz STL3.0-10T combo on my local Craigslist and after texting the guy he seems interested in my Hartke LH1000 and Brickhouse 2x12 cabinet as a trade.
The thing here is: I'm not really a big fan of the Brickhouse cab, the bullet tweeter adds a little too much zing to my tone and it's not very easy to tame down. I like the Hartke but I wish it had more options for tone shaping.
I've read nothing but positive reviews about these GB amps, the power rating at 4 ohms is about the same as my Hartke because I never run it bridged, but I'm left wondering if 300 watts at 4 ohms is going to be enough to gig with. I have a Mesa 410 that I'll likely pair the combo up with to get the 4ohm power rating but it just makes me uneasy to have an amp rated under 500 watts [that might just be me?]
Anyway what do you guys think? Hartke LH1000 + Brickhouse 2x12 for a Genz Benz STL3.0-10T

my thoughts.

my thoughts. | This was my thinking too. It was appealing to me because the name and size. I need to downsize a lot of my stuff due to having to move into a small apartment in the near future. I gotta downsize without breaking the bank...not an easy task

Both Hartke and GB make nice stuff, so you're covered either way for quality. And while 300w seems small compared to 1000w, in a 410 it can get pretty darn loud, trust me. I've done it a million times, and you can definitely have enough volume to get fired from any gig smaller than 1000 seats with 300w and a 410.

I picked up a Hartke 3500 for a killer deal which is be no means tiny but its pretty reliable and i only run my LH in stereo right now so its about the same power at 4 or 8 ohms. At this rate I may be selling the LH and 2x12 to fund a decent smaller 2x10 or 1x12 for apartment living. Thinking about a Carvin or Avatar cab.
