Ok heres the deal.... Right now I use a Ashdown ABM500 EVOII head and a Genz Benz 6x10 cab. Im wanting to down size (2 old 2b luggin around a big cab lol) I tried a Ampeg PF500/PF210 @ GC and loved it. I was planning on getting a Genz Benz NEOX 212T this week end (mem. Day weekend sale) and use my Ashdown with it. I dont know if I should go ahead and do that or get the Portaflex rig with the 2x10 and 1x15 cab together. I play alot and need something easy 2 haul, sounds good, and is dependable. Im really diggin the new Ampeg stuff but like what I have now ( - ) lugging the 6x10 around.
What do yall think??

I don't know if you have to pay tax at GC where you live, but I have to pay 7% here in Florida, so I always shop at MF, instead. Pretty sick to get a 10 or 15% holiday discount and then have to pay at least half of it back in tax.
That said, I'm liking the Ampegs. There is a mega-thread about them and some decent YouTube.
Good luck.

You can only answer this question AFTER you've tried the new rig out with your band. One thing is for sure, going from a 610 to a 210/15 or 212, you will lose volume. No way around that.

I'd get the Genz Benz NEOX 212T and use it with the Ashdown. I use two of the G-Bs and they sound good, have been working well since '09, and are very easy to haul. They really bring my Traynor YBA-3 to life in the higher frequencies, even with a passive J/flats.

Most misleading thread title award.
I though someone was going to rip the OP a new one.

Honestly, RickenBoogie said all that is needed to be said. If you downsize from a 6x10 you will lose volume and will have to compensate with power. Adding power is not the best way to get more volume - adding speakers is. The only way to find out if the new stuff is sufficient is to try it per Rick's post.

+1.

Two vertically stacked, light weight 2x12's are easy to move, flexibility(one for smaller gigs) and give you consistency in tone.

Probably move enough air for you as well.
