needing new bass amp ashdown mag300 vs ampeg ba115hp?

Sign in to disble this ad
hey guys ive decided to treat myself this christmas and buy a new bass amp cause im getting bored of my laney rb4 (which im selling)

ive been looking at the Ashdown MAG C410T-300-EVO2 Bass Combo Amp and then had a look at the ampeg ba115hp...what one do you prefer..i might go with the ashdown but i havent played it yet although i tried the ampeg with my ibane sr305 and thought it sounded great...

none of the local guitar stores have the ashdown in stock so i cant try it!

so whats your review on them both? i heard the ashdown is supossed to be a pretty good amp.

also should i buy it as a combo or the head and then the cab? and why do people buy them individually? instread of buying the combo?

thanks for the help

I bought the mag 300 and play It through the (I think it's called) 210t and 115t (the corresponding 2x10ins and 15ins. The sound is thunderous with excellent clarity with both together, however I find that if I need a smaller rig I always end up taking the head plus the 2x10 as this has much better clarity with good bass(though evidently not as earth shaking as +15ins)
Anyhow,as the head is never parted from 2x10 I wished I'd bought the combo, the components are difficult to move around as you have one less thing to carry most of the time. Haven't used the other amp though I'm afraid but if you use the ashdown you wont be dissappointed!
