Looking for a new head. GK 700RB or Ampeg svt3? I can get them for a similar price so that's not a biggie. Thanks in advance for your opinions.

If you mean the SVT-3pro, I'd vote GK; I've had both & IME the GK was twice the amp the Ampeg was. Consider the tone you're after as well, though- I was *OK* w/the Ampeg's general tone(not w/the apparent lack of power)but really dug the GK.

So what's the basic difference in the sound? I have a Gk mb115 and have played with the svt-3pro a bit but there was too much noise in the store to get a good feel of it.
