Neo for my Bag End

Sign in to disble this ad
hey, my Bag End S15L has a blown speaker, and I'm trying to decide if i should replace the speaker or just go a different cabinet direction.
In my thoughts on replacing the speaker, i hit upon the idea of using a Neo in there. so here's the question: Is there a Neo that'll drop straight in and work well, and how much of a weight savings would it be?
Thanks in advance!

The weight savings would probably make it worth it but you would have to find a driver with the right TS specs, but you seem to know that already.

I would start by looking up the specs for the current driver and trying to find a close match.

if your going the Neo route i'd do it sooner rather than later, the Neo situ is just getting worse all the time with the price hikes, and availabilty.

the weight saving does make a huge difference, saves your back, and out performs non neo drivers

I would email Bag End, or call them on the phone. Small company, you might be able to speak to a human who knows something.

In my experience, they have great customer service, and I think they would be happy to talk it over with you what neo would work in there.

Bag End speakers are pretty fantastic. Doubtful that you'd be happy with a different speaker, imo.

That cab design and speaker are a bit unique, so I would stick with the original driver or get a different cab. I know there are a few folks that tried some of the recommended alternates and then ultimately the original, and much preferred the original. For a bit more cash, they will give you a six year warranty, and they are great folks to with.
