So I enjoy "window shopping" in music stores, I'm always on the lookout for a deal, and I REALLY get a kick out of hearing all the various levels of noodling that goes on. One thing I've noticed...everybody pronounces "neodymium" differently. I've heard NEOD-de-um, neo-DIME-eum, neo-dim-e-um....etc. Anybody else noticed this? It makes it hard for me to put faith in a sales person that can't correctly pronounce his merchandise. |

I don't hold it against people, cause some just have bad verbal habits (even myself from time to time).

I have a beautiful pair of Bergantino AE210s and have only called the speakers "Neo".

Because having been in sales a long time I can tell you this. If you say the whole freaking word (even if you say it perfectly), SOMEONE will come in and want to argue with you about it. And it's a loose loose for the salesman. If he tries to correct the customer, he's screwed. If he just says "OK, fine. Sorry I botched that one up." people like you guys will think he's an idiot and not buy from him anyway.
Give the kids a break. They just can't win with picky people like you guys. If saying that word incorrectly really bugs you, odds are you are going to be nearly impossible to satisfy anyway. Again, 20 years of sales experience here. Some people can't (or won't) be satisfied.
