Never ending rig experiment.

OK, time to pick all of your brains.

My old rig recently took a dump so I figured I'd take that chance to experiment a bit. I've ended up with a GK 700RBII with a Neo 2x12 and a neo 1x15. This sounds amazing. But I'm not happy with it in the mix of my band.

I have trouble describing the tone I'm after. The tone of the GK is too soft, clean, round. Which many people really seek. I'm after more of a lows and low mids attack with a solid grind to the high mids and highs without becoming overly "clicky." If it helps to make it clear, I never run my horn at all.

I'm currently looking at a Mesa Powerhouse 1000 (the 1x15/4x10) to couple with my GK amp.

Money is a hot commodity so this is pretty much having to be something I trade or sell what I have to get.

I've also been tempted by a mesa 2x15. Can anyone chime in if they know how this cab will do with my exacting demands?

Any suggestions? I'm just after the tone, y'know?

An example of a tone I really liked was the tone I achieved on this recording (yes this is my band): 03 Testy by Youth PastoR on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free

Anyone have any suggestions for cabs/heads or whatever that I should be checking out?

You might try an Orange OBC115, it may have the sound you're looking for.
