ok I have an Acoustic B600h and two B410 cabs, sounds fine no problems with it .

But I was woundering if I ever felt like or had to replace my speakers, what would you suggest, and were would I order them from/get and why that speaker.

I play clean straight through the head on a 5 string Sr405 (if that matters) I love a clear clean tone and kinda bump my mids up (reverse scoop ) and harrdly ever turn on my tweeters.

Oh and mainly classic rock and bluesy type music, all though me and the lead player have a side project, were we play whatever (metal , blues, folk ect. I know its weird)

anyway thanx for the help and info

I bought for neo 10s and replaced all four in my cab and my back loves me....plus they sound great and handle more wattage than any previous speaks I had.

The Acoustics are MDF - why bother with NEO? Why bother trying upgrade over buying a cabinet built with better materials in the first place?

too many cabs are MDF lately. Too many consumers are OK with this.

Solution: YOU should not buy an MDF cab. The consumers who are OK with it are not your problem.

most hifi stereo speakers are made with mdf. it rings less and transmits less sound through the cabinet walls. its also heavier.

And a whole lot weaker in the corner seams. Hell, that's gonna matter if you take it someplace once or twice a week let alone a real tour.

It has qualities that are good for permanent installation like if you own the club and the subs, for traveling, even if it is in a civic....no way.

Cabinets made of MDF are pretty useless for a gigging bass player. They are simply too heavy for no real advantages.

OP replacing drivers means a lot of research to find ones that will work in your cabinet. May I suggest that you read through the FAQ:

I might have to change my mind on the utility of "sealed cabinets"

Manufacturers could sell 4x10 sealed (vertical array though), with one good driver to start. The rest of the openings sealed. As the player has a chance to afford more drivers, they can add them in as needed.

Imagine the flood of impedance questions ...

There is nothing wrong with being in a Jam band. I'm in one myself. We play every Thursday and I do it to keep my hands working allowing me to express myself on my bass.

You are using the equivalent of an eight 10. Even with a budget brand like Acoustic they should be able to handle almost any situation. Make sure you stack them on top of each other and not side by side. I use a pair of 2x10s so and have never needed more. I actually own four but seldom use the second pair.

If you do get deeper into the business, then you'll have many different choices and even possible endorsement deals. Let the future take care of itself (2012 notwithstanding).

thanx alot man , I was using 1 cab at practice and one at home just carried my head and bass back and forth, but now im playing both cabs, always stack them, we got a loud drummer so the 2 cabs and 600 watts helps me be in the band lol
