The Acoustic had more punch than a 60's Fender Bassman, but after Ampeg, Sunn and others came out with better amps, it's days in the market were numbered. Although a number of good players used them, everyone switched to something else within a 4 year timeframe.
The Acoustic isn't even close to almost any mid-level amp currently on the market. You can do WAY better sonically, and have something easier to move. |

This New 360 acoustic USA pre-amp head was also designed by the original Designer, Russ Allee with modern touches added. If one chooses, instead of the 361 powered folded horn enclosure cabinet that has the traditional 18" (but now also with a Hi freq. horn), and stands about 48" inches high, that's what Flea went with, Acoustic USA realized that one size does not fit all and now one can get an optional 15" powered folded horn enclosure cabinet (also with Hi-freq) that is considerably lighter weight, if I recall correctly and not as tall (36" High, I think.)
For more info., contact George "Vetchking" at the unofficialacousticcontrol forum. He'll be happy to tell you everything you need to know. Great guy, I've spoke to him myself personally. So, pick up the phone, give him a call. Flea certainly did.
Best Wishes to All,
Play On!

Yes, this is pretty exciting and has taken awhile to finally actually happen. Actually, I plan on paying him though, as a New acoustic USA 360 pre-amp head with a powered 15" folded horn enclosure cab is exactly what I intend to purchase when I can gather up the dough. Sometimes it takes awhile for my walk to catch up with my talk but so far it always has. IMHO, It's really impressive what these guys are beginning to do.
Play On!
