New amp/cab, need some help!

Hi, I just bought a Carvin r1000 and a SWR 8x8 for only 450 dollars paired.

I haven't played bass for a couple years and I had some quick questions.

If the amp is rated at 1000 watts bridged into 4 ohms, and my cab is 4 ohms, how do I bridge it?

I have also never had a cab with the dial in the back that controls the level contorl for the db. What is the optimal setting for this?

I haven't had a chance to plug it in yet, im not home, but the out from the cab goes to the head correct?

Thanks!

The dial is a level control for the high frequency horn in the cab. Experiment with it and adjust to your liking. I normally keep mine just barely on since I don't need a lot of sizzle in my tone.

Why don't you try the rig out and see if it's loud enough before attempting bridging. I'll bet it is.

Page 3 I think explains the amp, and the knob on the 8X8 should be a control for the tweeter in the Cab.
