New Amp Day: EBS CLASSIC SESSION 60 COMBO

Was looking for a new amp as my old one died. Started a thread here on TB on suggestions for a small Ampeg-sounding amp, and had pretty much decided to go for the Ampeg Micro VR and the 210.

Then I tried the EBS Fafner, which I kinda liked. Always thought that EBS was for slappers, but the Fafner has got a nice, warm rock sound. No way I can afford the Fafner, so I got myself the smallest of the EBS amps - the EBS CLASSIC SESSION 60 COMBO. I have no expectations that it will sound as good as the Fafner, or as loud as the Micro VR, but so far I like it.

As my home country, Norway is pretty much the most expensive country on the planet; I was surprised to see that this combo was only $290. In the US it's $399, and the rest of Europe it is +/- $350, depending on the local taxes.

Not much info about it, neither here on TB or elsewhere on the net, so I'll post a mini-review of the amp when I've tested it a little bit more.

Great! Congrats on the purchase.

I've always loved EBS amps. One of the best sound I ever got live was a Fafner head with 1x15 and 2x10 ebs cabs. I also used the HD350 with the 4x10.

I wish they were less expensive and more available here.

The session 60 looks good and I've thought about it a few times but at $399 it's not what I call a good deal.
