PM sent. I think $3800 is probably high.

Reeves sells their Custom 225 bass head for $2499...
Ampeg SVT VR - $2000
Orange AD200B - $2400

That looks awesome, if they weren't that expensive I wouldn't mind picking one up.

I'd love to have one of those, and which Le Mond is in the background?

Not sure... haven't found all that much info or resources for this amp.

I suspect that that line out and level control might be a mod.

Just found this in another thread... most of the DR201s I am seeing on the net are the 4 KT88 versions. Mine is the six EL34 version...

"""most Hiwatt bass amps, i.e. DR201 and DR405, have KT88 power tubes, not EL34. Some vintage DR201s have six EL34 tubes but these are rarer than the KT88 version."""

Nice amp. Hiwatt and other manufacturers cut back on using KT88s starting around 1977 due to a shortage after the demise of GEC. Most or all of the late 70s DR201 amps are 6xEL34.

Can you show any gut shots of the amp? It looks like someone added an adjustable bias pot and extra jack.

I have three vintage Hiwatt amps: 400w DR405 and two 100w DR103s. They are truly excellent. Hope you enjoy the DR201.

Too high.

The highest I've ever seen a DR201 sell from eBay bidding was about $3,300 14 months ago. That 1972 DR201 was near mint condition with all of the original Mullard Blackburn pre-amp tubes and GEC KT88 power tubes.

Most DR201s sell for about $1500 to $2500 depending on condition, location, who's looking to buy at the time, etc.

I will post some gut shots before too long! Seems like a line out with a level control to me. The seller also had a STA 200 slave for sale... I'm guessing the line out was installed to work with the slave.

Mine is in really nice condition... Tolex is in fantastic shape. New power tubes, not sure about the pre-amp tubes yet. I paid just under what a new Reeves would cost, and I fell like I came away with a pretty good deal. Decided to sell off a ton of gear to pay for it... have one bad ass amp instead of a bunch of amps, cabs, etc... About to post a very nice V4B this week. Also, I'm in Austin, so I feel like you have to pay a little extra for the pleasure of living in the live music capitol of the world... (which is a joke, btw -- not the inflated prices, that's real,,, the live music capitol thing).
