New Ampeg 410hlf cab horn ringing

Sign in to disble this ad
hey guys i just bought a brand new hlf 410 cab and it seems when i turn up the volume the horn has abit of a ring/bell to it like something is loose it only happens on certain notes but it goes away when i turn the treble down. it is more noticable when the gain is right down and volume up but when around the other way only very slightly
your thoughts?????
cheers

Take out the horn, make sure it the driver is mouted tightly to the horn, and that it isnt touching the cab some how. You might even be able to pull the horn out of the cab slightly while playing to see if it goes away. If it does, it's the mounting of it, if it doesn't, then it's the horn itself, or something in the rest of the audio chain.
