New Ampeg guitar amps

GVT Series: All-Tube Guitar Amplifiers

looks like a whole new line of combos, heads and cabs for guitar this summer. some look like they're pretty low power but the heads look like they'll do some damage. i wonder how they'll work on bass. would not mind a little combo for my occasional guitar gigs. would beat carrying around this super reverb. i guess we'll see what's up in a few months.

Wow, these things sound pretty cool too...definitely have a vintage-vibe to them...I'm digging this...curious, as you said, to see how they might work with a bass.

They need a new design. Everything is starting to look the same. Ampeg needs some product differentiation (aesthetically), dammit!

Nothing else looks like an Ampeg. They have an extremely recognizable design and you kind of just proved it.

sorry jimmy, but these amps make me really happy because they look like they would be played by the partridge family or the brady bunch band

These things certainly have the Ampeg look down. Hopefully these things weigh a bit less than their old but great vt-22 combos. Those things were awesome, but made a Twin feel light.

Actually, I think they were just a V4 stuck into a combo enclosure.

they're being made overseas so their chance of being affordable is pretty good.

mammoth, i kind of like the name. if i owned ampeg, i would take full advantage of owning the svt trademark. i'd have named them "svt-g"

I wasn't sure if they were real or not, since the first time I saw the video of them in action was 04/01. They look cool. My guitarist needs one to match my Micro VT Stack now.

Very cool! I have allways loved ampeg guitar amps and was kinda miffed that they quit making them for a while. I am wondering if they will offer the 50 watter in a head unit. The combo's are cool, but a 50 watt head version would be the shiznit.

A guitarist in one of my old bands had several different Ampeg combos and a V4 stack . They all sounded awesome and were also loud as hell.

It's good to see Ampeg back into the guitar game in a serious way. I hope they sound a s good as they look!

They look kinda like a Magnavox and an old Blackline mixed together. I liked the last 3 sound clips but not the first 2.

Always liked Ampeg better for blues/country stuff compared to Fenders, the reverb tanks on Ampegs sound great. But when it comes to hard overdrive and crunch, I'd still give Marshalls the edge.

I also think the 50 watter should be offered in head form.

My guitar player will dig this. He really digs his sold state 2x10 combo and was going to for with a Fender 1x12 deluxe to compliment the Ampeg. This might be a better option maybe. Hmmmm.
