A New Ampegb410HE

Sign in to disble this ad
hello everyone
I have a Gallien Krueger MBX Cab and i'm gonna trade it in for a new ampegb410he. I have an Ampegb2re matching head that will go with the cabinet and im wondering will the 450 watts at 4 ohms be too much power for the 200/400 watt cab? will it blow the speakers? should I get the AmpegB410HLF instead? and mind I cant afford the SVT series

Forget the ratings, and use your ears. If the cab sounds like it's straining, or farting, turn it down, (volume and/or low eq). I believe the 410he is an 8 ohm cab, so you'll likely get less wattage from the amp, but also have the opportunity to add a 2nd 410he to the rig later on, for more volume.

The 410HE is an 8 ohm cab.

The 410HLF is not a similar design in any way to the 410HE, aside from having four 10" speakers. The 410HE is voiced similarly to the 810e, while the 410HLF gets a much bigger low end but doesn't have as strong mids.

Just keep your volume and your lows knob under control. You should be fine. I ran a similar amp into an SVT-15E for years and had no problems.

The 410HE should easily handle 400w.
