A new bass amp needed I need a 60watt bass amp , second hand. I need help in choosing what to buy cause i have been using yamaha amp for a long time . I am thinking to buy a fender. Will that give out a good tone with Ibanez Sgr Series ? |
Why does it have to be 60w? That's pretty specific. What are your objectives. |
i need a practice amp ... which is easy to carry and with which i could jam aswell ... that is why i need something close to 60 or 100 watts |
What's your budget and what zip code (for CL search)? |
roland cube maybe ? |
Ok, there are tons of possibilities for good bass amps. If you want something to carry around to anywhere you go, I recommend the micro cube. It's tiny but potent, and although it is a guitar amp bass comes through well on it. For playing live, the Fender BASSMAN '59 is outstanding for a powerful sound. And for practicing, recording, or just jamming, the Fender BRONCO 40 is your best bet. It costs about 200€ in Europe, in the US probably around 300$, maybe less? Anyway, these are, in my experience, some of the best amps. |
DON'T BUY ANY IBANEZ GEAR IT WILL FALL APART IN A FEW WEEKS |
yeah ... found out when i bought the Sdgr series ... |
You need only an amp (you have a cab) or do you need a combo? |
i'd get on craigslist and look for an Ampeg BA100. you can find them super cheap. 100 watts. 115. sound awesome. |

Agreed on Roland Cubes. They've been a successful design longer than any other, and have always adapted to keep with the times. |
Yup, had some fun playing around with one, The effects are great for fiddling . :) |
