I just want a head for rehearsal jams and my ashdown eb-180 for my home stuff.
Although not sure whether it's worthwhile picking up one fo the plentiful hartke 3500w that are usually on ebay. |

| | | | Nobody here seems to be buying these.
They do seem to be big sellers according to the internet seller sites.
Why don't you buy one, try it for the 45day return period, then write a review?
My only concern is the weight.

My only concern is the weight. | Mostly due to the fact that I live in Australia and I don't have the option to do that.
All the people that purchased never reviewed so either it was really bad or they are keeping it secret :-) |

If anyone else has had the experience of playing through one of these amps please post your thoughts in detail.
Take care,
Len |

| | | Haha well I had to know because a friend offered me a bvt4500h and two of the ba810 cabs for $325 which I'm more than willing to entertain. It'd just be a ridiculous practice jam rig. I already have my live tc rig. But at $325....cmon.... |

But at $325....cmon.... | Behringer manuals are easy to find online... http://www.behringer.com/assets/BVT5500H_P0149_M_EN.pdf
Page 7 of 12 (Item 4) states that the minimum load impedance is 4 ohms.
The cabinet... http://www.behringer.com/assets/BA810_P0316_M_EN.pdf
Page 5 of 9 (Item 2) shows that the impedance of the cabinet is 4 ohms.
So, in theory, you really can't run both cabinets off of that amp...at least not at full power (as the current through the output transistors would be too much and cause overheating).
Could you get away with it if you don't get crazy...probably. Would you get crazy? Well, with two 8x10s sitting there, you're more than halfway there!!!
Heck, for $325 buy the rig and either add another amp (or a power amp (driven by the amp's Preamp Output)) for the second cabinet, or behave...but how does one behave with two 8x10s?
Have fun!!!

Thanks much for the help! My guitarist has two 812 full stacks so this should make the practice space feel more balanced Haha |

| | | Oh lord we tend to play loud yes, never as loud as would warrant even half of our stuff. There seems to be a shared fetish among us for the potential for face melting power but we rarely use it still, we hold small concerts out of our practice space and people always get a kick out of it so I say go big or go home....on a budget of course |

Take care,
Len | I searched but didn't find any post or thread by you discussing the results of your testing.
I was offered a used, but mint condition, one for $100 so I was just wondering. |

With all the bashing that goes on with one brand and another, there seems to be so little know about the facts. Lets not go back to one of those discussions about who did what to who and who owns what patent/design. We all know its a knarly upsetting subject - especially for the originators.
But what are the actual facts about what lasts, what's reliable, what holds its S/H value, what breaks down most regulary and embarrasses the hell out of you at a gig.
We need a 'Which?' magazine, or a JD Power of amps and gear. Are there any facts about equipment or is it all gossip and stories. All my traditional/ expensive equipement has lasted decades and hardly ever boken down. (I've had two heat sink triggers (lasted ten seconds) in ten years and a valve in 1965 - so the traditional equipement is pretty good). But what are the facts on the stuff everyone knocks? True? Gossip? Bad Feeling? Facts? Who knows - is there a breakdown register or actual repairers reports?

GK1001RB II
HD212 Bergantino
If he did buy the Behringer and still has it, we'd never know.
