I do that with a parallel processed crossover. The big advantage over separate amps is you only need one mic.

Per the othe thread already started on this amp.
The SVT-4 does all of this, has a tube pre amp, doesnt have a class D power amp, and is lighter. I see this as kind of a whiff on oranges part.

Svt-4 is an actual biamp head, but it doesn't split the signal until after the preamp, so really nothing much in common.

The SVT-4 doesn't have a blendable overdrive channel. It has nothing close to that type of functionality. The SVT-5, modeled after the Ampeg Billy Sheehan Preamp, did; but that product has been discontinued.
To each their own, of course. I'm in love with this idea, and I can't wait to hear it. It will almost certainly be the next head I purchase.
