New Cab Choices...

OK so I am in the market for a new bass cab. I was using an Ashdown MAG 300 head with the matching 410 cab. I just recently purchased a Gallien Krueger Fusion 550 Hybrid, which puts out 500w plus an extra 50 when you utilize the Bi-Amp feature that can only be used with GK cabs. I play heavy melodic metal (Chevelle, Fair to Midland) as my hobby, but am in a punk band. Both require some hefty distortion, and I thought the Ashdown cab could handle it, but it can't... So I am looking for a cab that can handle small to medium venues, handle distortion, and solid quality. I've narrowed it down to these two.

GK Neo 410
Ampeg 410hlf

Any suggestions??

This a case I would suggest not using the G-K NEO cabs and turn off/disconnect any horn. Hefty distortion will not sound right and will blow tweeter horns.

Of those two choices, I'd go with the GK...Ampeg has made many good cabs, but I don't happen to think that is one of them...just a muddy, boomy mess of a cab

+1

I would also recommend a pair of the neo 115's over the 410.
