I picked up this ugly Ampeg 810 with 8 fully functioning AlNiCo CTS drivers. I dropped the speaker grill into the cabinet and made that 7 fully functioning original drivers. Thankfully, I called a guy who knows a guy and I might have a new to me but correct vintage CTS speaker by tomorrow. We weren't sure what one of those is currently worth though. Help TB?

Dude, if you were trying to be like me, you would have run the cone through with a screwdriver Well at least you can get an original replacement, eh? I don't know what they go for, though...maybe $60-70?

Hah, already did on my last 810.

Yeah, my amp guy seems to know how to find absolutely anything and I love it!

Congrats on the cab! It's hard to price these vintage drivers. I've seen asking prices of up to $200 each on ebay, more reasonable prices of $50-100 each tend to be the norm here on TB.

It's funny...the speakers are that high by themselves, but buy the cab with 8 of them and it's a lot cheaper. Not a big fan of taking nice stuff and parting it out, but I have a feeling that's what I'm going to do with mine when I'm ready to retire it.

Having an old beat up ampeg cab doesn't mean much to some people, especially if they don't know the value, but the type of person parting out a square back cab usually knows what they have and how much people will pay to get theirs back to original. I think I paid 400 for mine from a friend who paid 250 for it. He had no use for the cab and gave me a decent price (I also knew what he paid for it) considering they go for 5-700 in the right circumstances.

I paid 400. Probably could've knocked up to 100 off but I try to give people what they want if it's fair.

By the way, I'm absolutely insane. I have no idea why I thought this was a '74. It's a '72. I just looked at the speaker I pulled and I'm dumbfounded as to how I thought it was a '74. I'm plenty deep into this night's drinking and don't know how I made that mistake yesterday. Oh well!

Talked to the guy for a bit today and I think I'll have a "new" vintage CTS speaker for it by later tonight. I can't wait to plug up the V4BH and SC120! A $60 quickly fixed mistake is one I can live with.
