Plugged in and played for a couple of hours. So far all I can say is wow.. this thing is loud, and clear. took some EQ tweaking to get things under control - there's a lot of crystal clear high end so I had to roll off a lot, even with the tweeter off, and it's also hungry for bottom end. I can crank up the low frequencies and it just eats them right up!
The clarity is amazing, and at lower volumes I can really dig in and get it to growl a little. Cranking the volume way up it just keeps getting louder and louder!
I have some gigs this weekend so I should be able to report more on how it works out, but so far I think this is gonna be a winner.. |

Heard nothing but great reviews of it.

I found I did'nt care for the tilt back handles and back wheels though. I found it awkward to move the cab and almost impossible to lift into a car or van. I like to elevate my cabs and it was a pita to do it with this cab. Very nice sound though, and the tweeter can be practically left off and you still get nice highs. Hope you like it !

Anyway, yes, this cab is the definition of the 'tight and bright' description I use for the Genz line. It sits right between the Schroeder BMF cabs (REALLY tight and bright) and the Bergantino AE cabs (relatively tight, relatively bright, but more meat down low and through the mid mids).
All these cabs are the classic 'neo' tone as described on this site.... LOTS of upper mids and lower treble, rolled off in the absolute low end. The tweeter adds just a touch of upper level sparkle in all these cabs, but it is subtle since so much top end comes out of those drivers. |

The tweeter probably is redundant on this cab - I barely had it on and did'nt miss it at all. However, when you have it full on and do a little popping, it's like razor blades. I was really surprised with the cheap, skinny, plastic wheels GB put on it. Does'nt seem like they would last if you did alot of one nighters, moving in an out of gigs all the time ( like I do ). They were already showing signs of wear after just a month or so. IMHO, this would be the answer cab if you had a house band gig and could leave it onstage all the time.

Wow it really shines there to. the clarity in the low notes right down to the low B is amazing. I've been using the same old hartke 4.5xl and a hartke 2x10 for so long I didn't realize how much of a change this would be. I was noodling around for about an hour and I barely left the B and E strings!
As far as the handles, I'm on the fence and will be able to tell more once it goes out on gigs. With the handles on top like that it really doesn't enable you to lift it and carry it any good distance - it prohibits you from lifting with your legs and you have to lift with your back instead, and you really can't walk with it because it's still so low when you pick it up. You have no where to put your legs. It is good for minor adjustments to the cab's position though as I can grab the handles easily and move it around even with the head sitting on top of it.
Rolling on smooth flat surface so far is ok, I can just stand next to it. I think I would have preferred 2 side handles in the standard location and just one on the top but in the back center for pulling it on it's wheels. Or at least matching handles on the bottom of the cab, which would give me something to grab when loading it in and out of the back seat of the car..
Regardless, I already have and use a magna cart and it fits nicely and is stable on that so I'm not too concerned. It's the sound and the volume that were most important and this thing's got those covered in spades. |

It's on the road alot with the band and holds up well. I finally purchased a vinyl cover for it and it works gig after gig.
I also purchased a NEOX 112 for practice and home. That too is one nice cab.

| | | | 1 neox 212t vs 2 neox 112t Anybody have any experience with using a single GB neox 212t vs a pair of 112ts? I'm using a 9.0.

I was used my 212T with a Markbass LMK for about a year, and when the power supply went Kaput on that, I bought a GB Shuttlemax 6.0. I must say, for whatever this is worth, that the 2 GB products seem to be made for each other. I notice a much faster and more articulate response with the GB + GB vs. The GB + Markbass, and the head sounds great essentially 'flat'. I am going to write and extensive review on my Shuttlemax in the near future because I think it will benefit many TB'ers that are curious about class D Micro amps. I would love to test GB products 'in the field'; wouldn't that be cool? Well one can dream right!

I am contemplating the attachment of a handle on the center back of the cab, or, the type of fold out handle the one finds on airline lugguge. I will report back when I find a suitable solution. Has anyone else modified their cab for ease of transport? |
