New cab day-I LOVE G.C.!!!

Guitar Center gets a lot of flack on here,so I thought I would post something good. I have found that if you get to know the manager and staff people, it can be a great place to get good deals. I like the Players Reward program too. There are four GC's in the Twin Cities metro area. I have gotten to know the managers in two of them, and have given them my card with BASS STUFF written on the back. That way when they get something in used or have a idem on clearance the shoot me a e mail or give me a call. Because of this I have gotten a great deal on my rig.

A few months back I got my Peavey VB-2 new but a demo with full warranty for $499.00

Today I just got a lightly used Orange OBC115 cab for $379.00

This combination sounds great together. The tone is just what I have been looking for.

So I have about $880.00 into a $1560.00 rig!!

Score! I wish my local GC had an OBC115, new or used.

Looks like a fun rig and you certainly can't beat the price.

The only stuff I've bought at GC in the past... 10 years... has been used. And I have to say, the deals were good. I'm not quite sure why GC sells so much used gear cheap, given that they don't exactly deal on new gear...

Awesome scores! I've been eyeballing V2's for a while now

Which store did you get it from? I know a few guys at the GC's: including the 3 in my band!

Smart shopping on the used market or on clearance is the only way! Add in the 85 4003 and I have about $2500.00 into everything in the photo!

The VB-2 came from the GC in OKC, the cab I just got from the Roseville store. They have the Orange AD200 head for $1450 and the 410 cab for $500, someone got took on trade in.

Definitely. I haven't purchased anything new in a long time. Trade, trade, trade!

I've never been to a GC in person but I have ordered several things over the 'net, and have always gotten good stuff shipped fast at a great price. Can't ask for more than that, really. GC and Parts Express have become my two main sources for kit.

It is the first rig that I have had that my Ric sounds good (to me) through. It was ok with my SWR 350X & SWR 610 sucked with my VB-2 & Eden 212. I was ready to sell it, but not now. I read the 115 reviews and the shootout here and have to say, it is a great stand alone 15. I would love to add a second one if I find another good deal.

Definitely a cool rig for a great price!
And +1 to GC, the one near me is good too. Friendly, knowledgeable people, well managed. Decent selection in the bass room too.

I always browse their used gear online. No stores near me (4 hours away in Baton Rouge, and it's not a big one). I wonder if you find a used piece of gear at one store, do they ship it to you directly or ship it to the closest store?

Sweet! I saw that cab in their used section too and was thinking about buying it, great deal! I want the black tolex though so it will match my Little Bastard.

Enjoy your rig!!

They ship to you. They can ship to a store but it's the same price to you.

As another hat-tip to GC, I bought a used bass by calling the shop after seeing it on their site. They were amazingly helpful, emailed me pictures, packed very well, and shipped fast. I think buying from a remote GC is often better than going in person ;-)
