New config.

Sign in to disble this ad
hello all,

Looking for advice on a new config. I currently play in a classic Rock band with some new tunes out today. I play out of a Eden WT800 into 2x10 and 1x15 Mesa cabs. I really like the sound of the cabs but are heavy to move around. My thought was to go to a more classic rock sounding head and one cabinet, weather it be 6x10's or 4x10 and a 15 like Mesa's power house. The head I am open to thoughts on it.....

Feedback???

A 2x10 + 1x15 is a reasonable match. Anymore than two tens will leave the 15 way behind and you'll end up blowing it.

Classic rock...beyond the SVT/8x10, I suppose?

I'm a big fan of the Bergantino NV-series cabinets. All are the exact same size, sealed, about 100lbs, and are easy to move around because of the wheel configuration.

I've only played the NV610, which is an awesome cabinet, but there's also the 412, 215 (with a 6" midrange), and the 425 (a fifteen and three tens in one box).

For heads, look into the Carvin B1500 or B2000 heads. Awesome, awesome amps with dead-simple controls and can bring the thunder.

I own the Mesa PH412 and its the best sounding cabinet I have ever played through. Much better sounding then the Powerhouse cab with 410's and a 15. Its only about 135 pounds and is not bad at all to transport.
