New Crown Power Amp

I Need some help figuring out what mode and setting to use on my new amp, I am clueless.....

My plan is to use a Tech 21 VT Deluxe (or a BD deluxe untill the VT comes in.) as a pre and this Crown XLS 1500 amp. I play in a cover Rock band, my current set up is an SWR SM400 into 1 or 2 goliath 8 ohm 410's depending on need.

Some of my questions are, do I use HighPass or LowPass mode? Crossover mode? The Freqs are adjustable for each of the filters, What freqs would be most desirable?

Does LowPass filter let low freqs pass thru? (hence the name?)

The main reason for the change was weight and power. The XLS weighs less than 12 lbs and has the option of more power.

I'd use high pass mode (24db @ 30hz) to cancel subharmonics. You shouldn't need a crossover. Probably want to bridge out.

The way I remember it is ...high pass = the highs are allowed to pass to your speakers. So set the flter to 40hz and only frequencies higher than that are allowed to pass on to your speakers. Anything lower gets filtered out or blocked.

The Crown xls or new xti amps with a simple light weight pedal as eq is a very attractive alternative for sure. Tons of setting features in those amps and the light weight benefit of Class D amps. Ahhh choices.

This is an attractive power amp. I wonder how certain preamps would sound with this...

BBE BMAX perhaps?
Or Aguilar Tone Hammer?
Or would a Boss GT-10B work?

Edit: Heck, for my needs, the XLS1000 for $300 would probably work great. Hrmmmm...
