Wow. Just wow.
This cabinet is AMAZING.
...and I haven't even really turned up yet.
I bought this from Leland, and it got here yesterday.
So far I am REALLY impressed.
Oh, and the amp...YES! It rocks, very impressed.
Thanks, from me, David, for sharing these designs. You ROCK !!!...

Your rig looks great and seems very portable without losing any tonal clarity...
Could you tell me more about how it SOUNDS? |

Doesn't seem as if they are carried in stores...can you describe the SOUND as compared to your previous rig? |

Things have REALLY changed since then.
My last amp was a Fender BXR Dual Bass 400 w/4x10 & 1/15.
It was OK, but was very sharp edged, I could never warm it up. Speakers were unremarkable & heavy as hell.
Not the case here...not a fair comparison amp or cab-wise.
This amp has a 3 tube pre-amp stage & much more power.
The sound of the fEARful 15/6/1 is big and fat, with plenty of clearity in lows, mids & highs.
This is what a bass rig should sound like.
The cabinet is like 62 lbs....& will probably be the only one I'll need for a LONG time.

Congrats on the new cab...you now own the best there is.

If I can't play through them, how could I know that they're what I looking for??? |

Many of us who were fairly early adopters had to work with the acoustic science involved in the design and the first hand accounts of the few who had tried them or built them for our decision making.

Would you recommend building one or buying it already assembled? |

Would you recommend building one or buying it already assembled? | I didn't have that choice at the time. I had someone do my woodwork and did the rest myself. It was a worthwhile project and would definitely do so again.
That said, you now have to option of just getting the FREE plans and do everything on your own, or you could get one of the authorized builders to do the whole thing to order...or get one of the easy-to assemble kits at SpeakerHardware.
I would also suggest to anyone who buys one or makes one does make a donation to Greenboy (paypay on his message board and site), he's put a lot of time and effort into all of these designs and also on the non-customer service side.

You can save some money by cutting your own wood and doing it all yourself...if you have the time, tools, space, etc.
Speakerhardware.com sells kits, including precut panels. That seems to be the route a lot of people are going these days.
I built my first fEARful purely on faith (and greenboy's reputation). I wasn't disappointed. In fact, I built a second one.
