again FWIW I tried out a Fender Rumble- 30 IIRC- the other day for a mate who's starting to play. It was THE worst sounding 30w amp outta ALL the 20-30w amps we tried. He was astounded - "FENDER???'' The li'l Warwick 30 souded good. & a Line 6 sounded good too.

Sorry nothing to do with thier new stuff really.

I looked these over last night for an hour or so, as there's now a lot more info online than when this post began.
I think the best way to use these is to mate one of the heads with the 2X8 and 112. They are designed for each other. I can't justify mixing the speakers with anything else, unless Fender will reveal what they can actually handle. Right now they are fudging about the power rating. Is it 250 watts or is it 500 watts? The website says both.
Biggest roadblock is the price - each one is selling for $400. You have to look at what else you can get for $1,200. You can get a new GK combo with 1X12 and 200 watts for $300. For $1,200 you can get much more power without adding much more weight.
The biggest advantage I can see is the small size and weight.

The 4x10 looks intriguing especially for the price: $300. By the spec's it appears to be a very nice cab, but I will remain skeptical.

I purchased a rumble 150 3 weeks ago. I really like the overdrive set up. Beautiful tone, ample power, easy to set and it sounds great through my bfi 212 cab.

I had posted this a couple months ago when these new Fender heads and cabinets came out and didn't get that many responses. Well since these have been out for a couple months I'm just curious if people are buying these and what the consensus is........

..............The new Rumble 410 cabinet as a backup/practice cabinet. At first I thought it was a good buy, and sounded good with my Markbass heads. That was with my passive 4 string basses............I then tried my Bongo 5 string and it could not handle it, even at lower volume/gain levels. The speakers "farted" away with the active 18 volt preamp and thunderous B string of the Bongo...........You get what you pay for, so I returned the cabinet. Even if you want a cheap second cabinet, I would have a hard time recommending the Rumble 410. If you want an inexpensive main cabinet, I would recommend an Avatar 410, or the Carvin Pro 10.4 Neo Cabinet.

Im very happy with this head (150). Compact, lightweight, easy to set 4 band eq, very nice tone and plenty of kick. For $250. how can you go wrong?

i was looking at getting the 112 rumble cabnet and was wondering if anyone had played it and what your thoughts on it where cos not much has been said about it, and if it could handle the low B of a 5 string. And i also didnt understand weather it was 250w or 500w either :s
thanks

250 continuous 500 peak iirc

Fairly low voiced cab imho - I really liked a pair of them with a Rumble 350 head.....and imagine a pair would be happier with a low B..?

I have been using the Rumble stuff for the last few months. I have a 2X8, 1X12 and 350 head. This set up is surprisingly loud and versitile. I play exclusively 5 strings and have never had a farting issue. Once I got the setup and started using it, the portability really just surprised me and it frosting on the cake. One trip from the car and I got my whole rig and basses in the venue. These cabs do seem to be voiced pretty low, but I really like the projection and sound I get from them in the mix. I'm very happy with my purchase.

I really think if they were called Bassman Light instead of Rumble - they would be flying off the shelves....to me they sound like the last generation of Bassman amps with a usable overdrive option

Do they have neo speakers or something or are they just built lighter?

...

I agree about the 30w Rumble combo, I had no luck with them but these new heads/cabs look solid. It may have been a good idea to call them something else (Bass Boy? hehehe) else because the early Rumbles had problems, at least the ones I blew up did. Anyway I really like the look of the new heads + cabs, they look like great small/medium gig options. The 2x8 cab is a great move IMO.
Sorry for starting a new topic about these. Should have spotted this one.
