New Fender Rumbles?

Sign in to disble this ad
Am I late to the party?
New:
- 2x8 cab
- 1x12 cab
- 4x10 cab
- magnetic feet 350 and 150 watt heads

http://www.fender.com/products/rumble

I'm thinking the 350 on top of 2, 1x12's might be sweet...
but I've never heard that Fender Rumble tone - any good?

It looks very simple, quite the opposite of my Carvin BX500.

I'm curious about the new higher watt Rumbles myself.

I can tell you my Rumble 100w 1x15 has been an excellent workhorse that never let me down. The tone is.... strongly OK. I mean, I haven't heard any superior tone coming from any GK, Ampeg (except maybe the BA115), etc. in it's price range.

I'd like to hear what the Rumble 150 combo sounds like and how loud it can get. Same with the 350 combo. If they are similarly durable to the Rumble 100, these might be excellent amps for the relatively inexpensive price.

Used the old model Rumble 210, 100W for a good two years, a friend has it now, still trucking. Solid amp, always had great sound. But not very light weight, really - compared to what is out there now. It is a good work horse - except for the casters/bottom panel of partical board - broke up pretty easy, wheels always worked their way out. Other than that, nice amp, IMO - especially for the price.

I have a Rumble 100 2x10" combo that I use as a practice amp. Tonally it is ok, but isn't over powered. Before I got my G-K rig I used to use the Rumble on top of a Peavey TNT 100 with a single 15" live, but I had to push it pretty hard. I also have a Rumble 15 and it is pretty worthless, not loud enough and way too nasally sounding.

Fender really needed to make an affordable, mid powered rig. If the 350 has enough poop, I'd think if it was mated to a decent 4x10" cab they might sell ok. I was never impressed with the last Bassman series, there is a lot better stuff out there for the $$$.......

I've had the older 100w 1x15 combo for a few years now and never had any issues with it. I was always hoping they would put out a head/cab line. I've been looking into larger amps lately and this may do the trick...

I haven't seen the new heads yet, but the other day I went to a music store to check out a bass. The only amps they had were a new Rumble 15 and Rumble 30. I was feeling a bit disappointed about my lack of suitable amp options for testing the bass. Plugged into the Rumble 30 and to my surprise, it sounded very nice. I ended up buying the bass and my Dad bought the amp to put in his music room, so we can play a bit when I come to town for visits. Based on that little amp I would definitely give these new heads a look.

i'm gassing bad for a 1x12" and 2x8" cab. wonder how the 12" depth affects the overall beef? someone buy my schro so i can get them.

man, a 2x8" and 1x12" mini stack, capable of handling 1000watts, weighing in at 52lbs, that would be bad a**.

I don't understand their marketing.

"The new Rumble™ 350 Head boasts a very conservative 350 watts (comparable to many competitors' class D products rated at 500 or 600 watts)..."

How is that supposed to make their product seem desirable compared to competitors' products?

THE biggest issue would be to be able to go out and test drive these amps and cabs.
They need to be sitting in a GC so people can give them a spin.

I would be quite inclined to haul home a new Fender bass, amp and a couple of cabs if I were able to sit down and plug in.

I should open a shop where I buy 1 copy of every amp and cab available for retail and people can come in and test them out in all sorts of combinations, and then order what they found that they liked the best. (*in a perfect world*)

my rumble 210 combo was a great amp, until i dropped it one day and baffles started rattling. the big downer for me; there was no external speaker jack and i don't think the new ones have one either. if i'd have been able to use an external cab, i'd prolly still be using my rumble.

I'd like to see some specs (frequency response and sensitivity) on those compact cabs. Vertical 4x8 anyone?

they still offer atleast one combo; a 2x10 with the 350w head enclosed. it sounds VERY nice, but i'd have to go with the modular head/cab setup if i was to go with a rumble rig. the prices are tall though :/

I sent Fender an email about the specs on the 410. No response yet. I asked for sensitivity and frequency response specs several days ago to no avail.

If it had decent specs, it would be a phenomenal budget option for a lot of us out there. A neo 410 with moderate handling is a great deal for $300 even!

When these start showing on the classifieds I'll probably snag two 410's for under $400 if the specs don't put me off. That's, what, 3-6 months out though?

Really? That surprises me a bit. With my 1001RB-II, I suppose not... Well, in that case I might as well keep my efficient Bag End 410 and just keep using the 480w @ 8 ohm. Wouldn't be worth running the 700w into a less efficient 4 ohm cabinet. I should keep an eye out for another one of these Bag Ends instead.

Two Vertical 2X8s or 1X12s or a combination of the two is very interesting to me. I wonder what Fender means by 350 watts comparable to competitors 500-600 watt amps. This sounds a bit dubious to me, but I am hoping its cool! Fender always seems a little late to the game in the area of new technology. When I have a chance to try some out, I'll post the results.
