New Genz Benz ShuttleMAX amp?

Sign in to disble this ad
Anyone know what the good folks at GB are working on for their next ShuttleMAX amp? Love the FET/tube/EQ flexibility of my SM12 but it would be perfect if it could do 500-750 watts on each 8 ohm side. Gotta use it as a preamp w/a separate QSC poweramp to get that extra headroom. Makes a difference w/my LDS 15/6 and 12/6 cabs.

So you're looking for a ShuttleMax18, or a 1200W slave poweramp?

You're running a 15, a 12, and 2 6's and you want 750W per side?

Instead of getting a new amp, why not swap out the drivers in your cabs to make 'em 4 ohms per side and draw the watts you're looking for?

While they are at it, I'd like to a one or two more tubes on the tube channel and run them at a full 300 volts.

I understand that we are always looking for more power; but have to say that the existing SM12 has way more oomph into two 4 ohm cabs than I will EVER use. So, for me, more power with the same preamp would be a non-interest.

Because the 3015LF and 3012LF that he's using in each cab are only available in 8 ohms.
