New GK MB 210...What could be wrong?'

Sign in to disble this ad
I just bought a GK MB 210 brand new the other day. I hear no difference in my tone or anything when I turn on or off the horn. So is it just me or do I have a problem with the amp?

And also what does the limiter button do? I also hear no difference when I turn it on or off.

If you change the title of your thread to 'New GK MB 210. What could be wrong?' you'll attract the attention of TB's MB 210 users.

First of all the horn isn't going to make much of a difference if your treble settings are low. What's your eq? Also, the limiter basically just prevents the amp from farting out when you push the volume to higher levels and say pluck a string really hard. It's not supposed to make a difference in tone. The horn you also will not hear unless you are slapping or using a fingerstyle like Steve Harris.

Alright it could be the Tweeter but try a few things try cranking the treble just incase your settings are turned down. You should be able to hear difference when turning it on & off ?
If there is no difference at all well it could be that its blown or not connected i nternally. It could just be a factory fault so id look in to it.

It seems as everyone who owns the MB-210 has had varying levels of tweeter function. Mine was fairly indistinct until I ran an mP3 player through the aux and voila! High frequencies I hadn't really heard were now evident. Was it a big deal to me? Nope. I'd venture to guess the majority of the tweeters out there aren't bad...they're just not obvious.
