Hey guys, I just bought a pair of GK neo 112 cabs and one sounds weird. The scratching sound comes and goes but its very faint and sounds like the speaker is busted but its not. Its like a faint scratching/buzzing sound. If I hit an open E, and let it ring through, the scratching is noticeable. I keep playing and then the buzz/scratch stops out of a sudden and the cab is crystal clear. It stays clear for a little while and then buzz/scratch comes back. Its not anything vibrating. Its not the amp, as i switch from cab to cab and the other cab is perfect. Any ideas what it could be? When I turn up the volume and play it loud it thumps and plays good. Doesn't distort or anything. It is just in lower volume playing.

At super low volume, one would say the speaker was blown, then I give it thumpy volume and it thumps and eventually the scratch goes away and sounds nice and solid. I've cranked it up and let the B string make it vibrate and it sounds great, no farting out. |

I had already did the whole exchange thing with them this week because they decided to send me one new in the GK box and one obvious used one in an unmarked box with no manual/biamp cable and grill scratched and tolex scuffed. Return time sucks. |

The G-K box should be packed inside a outer carton. Had one poor fellow here go through a few eminence speakers from MF trying to get one without shipping damage

I opened the box, no foam, no padding, no plastic cover, nothing... just the cab. Sent it back, but since I paid paypal, they could not do an exchange. They had to refund my palpal, then I had to re-purchase a new cab again. Instantly I grew patient. And now I might have to return this cab due to a possible bad/loose or misaligned voice coil. I dread the whole process again. |

Then you'd be s.o.l.
