New hartke a35 owner question

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi guys just got my new amp today to go with my squire p bass. I have read the manual but being a newbie I do have a question about the limiter.
When you adjust the limiter what is the effect on the sound exactly? I'm just having a hard time understanding exactly what role the limiter plays lol, think I've over thought it and my mind is unable to grasp it now.
Also if anyone has any cool eq settings I could play with I'd be happy to try them out lol

Limiters usually work.......
The more you turn it up the more it will 'squash' your bass signal. i.e. it will make you're notes all a similar volume.
Imo, it's best to turn it down, so it's only slightly on.(or off). O think it's better to develop your technique/playing style & plucking technique, than to rely on a limiter.
But it can also function as a speaker protector-to 'iron out' any 'spikes' in volume that could cause harm to your speaker.
So perhaps just use it when playing at you're amps higher volumes-therefore TO protect the speaker
