Welcome to Talkbass. There are dozens of straight-up good answers, and dozens more of "good for somebody" answers, so you need to do two things:

1) Specify a ton more about your needs, wants, expectations. Tones, genres, size of venues, clean/dirty, one/multiple channels, old/new school looks or vibe, price range, new/used, cabs to be used, ruggedness, and personal biases (e.g. "must be tube", or "nothing from XYZ brand", etc.). I know I said price range, but hear it again: your real, actual budget (not "affordable" or "reasonable" or "won't break the bank").

2) Start reading this forum. We have literally thousands of threads discussing light reliable heads. Just start at the top of the page and keep going. You won't run out of reading material.

There are tons of them out there now. And in all fairness to Hartke, they do have better amps than Transporters. Transporters are their budget line but their other lines of gear are well regarded. We could name you off a list of amps here but best thing to do is go to music store websites and seeing what's out there or hit your local music store.

Be sure to consider buying used gear in the classified section. It's a great way to try stuff without losing money everytime you want to try something different.
