New Head/Cab suggestions

Sign in to disble this ad
This is my first time looking around for new gear and I'm not 100% sure on what would be best to buy within my price range etc. (Anywhere between £300-£500 for a cab at least)

Any suggestions on any heads or cabs that would be worth having a look at?

Thanks for your time!

just stay away from behringer and the dirt cheap cabs and there's a ton of stuff you can get. i'm an ampeg fan but there are many different good brands out there like hartke, gk, swr, peavey, genz benz, markbass, ashdown, among others. but if you skimp anywhere, skimp on the amp, not the cab. cheap amp into good cab still sounds good, but not vice versa. you don't have to spend a lot to get a good cab, but don't get the bottom of the barrel priced stuff.

Why is everyone so down on Behringer stuff. I got their stuff in my studio and on the stage. I've no complaints at all. If its good enough for Alex Lifeson... its good enough for me.

Look used, you'll get better gear for your money that way.

Yeah I've been really tempted to go for Ampeg for a while now, I've heard nothing but good things. I've came across the B 410HE online last night but I want to look around a bit more/get as many opinions as I can before I buy! Is there any heads you would recommend for a cab like that within a decent price range?

I really haven't had the best of luck when it comes to used gear before, but no harm in having a look I guess! Both experiences I've had with Behringer haven't ended so great either tbh, that was with both guitar and bass amps, but then again maybe it's just my luck haha

Thanks for the replies so far!
