New, to me, Ampeg B18

So, I just bought an early `63 B18 and had some questions about it. First, it doesn`t have the big chrome handles on each side of the cab, there are no holes to show for it. When did Ampeg add those handles? I have the Ampeg: The Story Behind The Sound book, and on page 96 there is a period ad where the cab has no handles also. It still has the original octal speaker plug, which is cool.
The amp is missing the dolly, but every picture I`ve seen of B18`s there is never one. Did these amps come with wheels at all? I`m still waiting for the amp to get to me, it`s in Ky, I`m in Tx. Can`t wait to get it and post pictures of it.

Congrats on the amp...they are fantastc! I owned one 4 years ago and regret selling it. The one I had (67 I believe) had the metal handles on the side and a dolly that came original to the cab. Mine still had the original Cleveland speaker and it was a beast! Please post some pics once you get it and of course join us in the Portaflex thread.

My '66 B15N has no side handles, the 'top' has recessed sides to grab onto for handles.

J, if your cab had side handles installed originally, you'd be able to see the holes for them in the cab. Also, you would have a hole in the bottom of the cab for mounting the dolly if it came with a dolly. It would seem illogical to me for them not to include a dolly with it, but I really don't know for sure.
