New player needing help with amps.

So I just picked up my first bass the other day, and now I need an amp. After playing on a few I think Im'm going to get a Peavey headliner 210, but I have no clue what head amp to buy. I have a 100-200 dollor budget for a head amp, and need one that can stand a Peavey Headliner 115 on top of the 210.

Thanks.

$200 is not gonna get you far in the world of bass.

It would only be to get started, right now Im thinking of just sinking the money for the 115 into the head amp for a budget of around 400 would that work?

If you buy used that could be decent. You could get some old peavey gear for cheap.

I'll keep looking for used, but what would the price range be for a good head amp?

U can do it easy. Just look for old Made in USA gear by Peavey, or some CA Traynor or Yorkville amps Just don't go for cheapo Chinese stuff, or Behr inger..... They MAY sound OK for a while but then they BREAK & U CANNOT fix 'em, A good old Peavey or even an old 100-200watt power amp, get a VT bass pedal $140 -use as a pre amp. I bet U could find all that under $200

You could find some of the peavey mark series heads for under $200. They aren't the prettiest things ever, but they're loud, and can take a beating.

you should just go a combo - if you can make it stretch, I bought a 35W Peavey Max 112 for $300, and it's a pretty solid amp
