About a year or so ago I posted a thread about a new company called Uncontained Sound. This company has been making "Powered Bass Cabinets" for a couple years now. They just came out with their new line and made some additions and improvements. They made the cabs lighter added wheels and now include a separate volume for the horn and one for the overall output of the cabinet (So bassists with passive basses can get some too!) I've been using the new 1000w BP410 cab for about 4 or 5 months now and it's the best thing I've ever used. My tone is my tone and I don't have to mess with any EQ other than whats on my bass. Bottom line is you're really gonna know what your bass sounds like. (Kinda like waking up with a girl the next day and seeing her without her makeup! Get it?) If your bass sounds like Poo it just sounds like Poo. If your bass sounds great it'll still sound great without any coloring. For a show all I take is my Roscoe SKB 3005 and 3006 and my EBS Multicomp. One trip in one trip out and the sound is amazing! I used to head out with two 410 cabs and a head, or two 212 cabs and a head and was Ok with the sound I had until I tried one of these cabs for the first time. After that I sold all of my cabs and heads. Powered cabs are nothing new, and I know it may take a minute to get used to the idea of just plug and play. But if you get a chance to check these cabs out you won't be disappointed. Ask Doug Johns, Jaquo III-X, Panel Johnson, Jimmy Earl or anyone that attended the 2010 NAMM Bass Bash. They can tell you whats up!
