Lightbulb New REVSound bass cabinets

I went to a demo of a new series of bass cabinets over at a friend's house in central NH this morning. I really enjoyed watching Tony Puleo play through the new Revsound cabs. It was a real treat 'cause Tony's a great player and heck of a nice guy. Plus hearing a direct comparison between his more-or-less "industry standard" Bergantino 4-10 and the new Revsound RS410T was very revealing. IMO the Revsound has more lows and a generally tighter sound. Tony got that old-school sound round Precision right off the bat, and a funky modern with just a touch of EQ on his MarkBass amp. I never heard the cab break up, even when he wailed it loud enough that I had to put in my earplugs! He was doing stuff with an open B and 4 note chord and it was clear as a bell.

Currently the cabinet is 4-10" Celestion speakers, tweeter with a fixed crossover at about 4.5k and a port. It runs at 8 OHM, and they are working on getting one that runs at 4OHMS. Couple that with that the fact that it weighs in at a very light 55 pounds, what's not to like?

I also played through it with my Ristola fretless 5 string and 30+ year old Woods amp. It was a really sweet sound. One thing that really stood out in particular to me was how even the sound was all the way across the strings. I've used a lot of cabs and that's always a problem when I want to jump around between playing low and then jumping up high to play lines.

RevSound also has 2-10 and 4-10 unported cabinets, both without tweeters. IMNSHO all RevSound needs is for the players to hear the RS410T and "it" could easily become the industry standard. Nice job David and Mark!

Full Disclosure: I do NOT work for these guys, nor do I own one of their cabinets. I do know them, tho I also know tons of players in New England, so that's not all that unusual. That said, I am currently thinking about how I can manage getting the cost of yet another cabinet past my beautiful and understanding wife...

All I could find was a post on the Boston craigslist for a yellow RS210 and white RS410?

here's a couple of pictures, tho they aren't too good. the blue one is the RS410T and the natural is the RS410. apparently they have a lot of different colors of Tolex, as well as the black carpet stuff and natural. they also are into talking to players and coming up with custom formats.

FYI here's a link to a YouTube video of Tony Puleo playing thru 3 of these new Revsound cabinets and comparing them to the Berg 410.

took the RS210 out to a benefit gig the other night where my rig was the "house amp" for the evening. there were 5 bass players including myself who played every kind of music from rock, to blues to jazz to funk, as well as my weird solo bass stuff with my Ristola fretless and loop pedal. the RS210 plus a Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0. I thought that it sounded great in all the settings. this is a great cabinet and it comes in at around 30 pounds.

I would get in touch with David Luke directly and ask about what exactly you are interested in:

603 (dash) 651 (dash) 9800
revsound (at) hotmail (dot )com

at this point they are basically one-of's.

great sound from these cabs. The configuration that most intrigues me is not shown in this photo, it's the RS 110T on top of the RS 210. That's 3x10 @ 4 ohms, and very easy to transport/carry. Decisions, decisions ...

the combination you describe is a great one. that way you have all the power you need, plus having that 1-10 for rehearsals or small gigs is a godsend, at least for my aging back. the cabinets are light, but pack a ton of power. I've used them with my Streamliner 900 as well as Epifani 902C. good stuff...
