New Rig :D Great price

Well I can finally say I have moved on from combos. I will soon have a Gallien Krueger Backline 600 head. I just purchased one used 10 minutes ago for 149.99$ on the used section of guitar center! The head, speaker cable, shipping, and 1 year coverage plan only costed 209.00$! I just purchased The Gallien Krueger Backline 4x10 blx II cab for 189$ earlier this month now I just have to wait for the final piece

Im really excited about this and thought Id share it with my fellow TB members. lol Any one have any comments on how this rig will most likely sound?

Hey man thats great!!! Never played that rig, but im sure it will sound great. GK makes good stuff, even their low end gear. Ive bought many items used off the GC used inventory and have never had a problem. Just bought a used GK MB2-500 off there for $270(stupidly sold my first one) and waiting for it to come in. Im sure it will look and work great.

Hey thanks alot for the good words trjazzluva! These are actually my first Guitar Center purchases and Gallien Krueger purchases as well [I dont have a guitar center near me or any GK dealers either] But thats awesome about the GK MB2 500! Youll have to write a review and show us some pics when you get it! =D

Ive played through that at my local music dealer and thought it sounded amazing! If you have the money and you want it, Id say go for it!

By the way any GK backline 600 users know what color the power on light is? Just curious :]

I heard its very reliable and doesnt give any serious problems other that some easily induced outer cosmetic wear and tear. But asides from that I hear reliable speakers, good workhorse, and GK quality in a more affordable package. lol?

No problem man. You may have some guys on TB that dont like GC and some that do. Ive had no problems with the few in-store or used purchases ive made with them. Actually, i withdraw my first statement about not playing the BLX cabs. I actually played the BLX 2x10 cab and it had a great sound, nice growly lows and low mids, but no highs, but those cabs have no tweeter so what do you expect...

i like tweeters.

but definitely good for the money. The Backline amps sound just like the more expensive RB heads, only they're made in China instead of the USA. But all in all, great gear for the money.

TB'er fdeck wrote an informative review of the Backline 600 in which he explains how to EQ the amp for a flat response.

Wow Thanks again, makes me feel really confident with my investment. :] Ill post some pictures once the head gets here through UPS. [shouldnt be long, ordered it from Ohio and I live in West Viginia] Thanks Again for all the helpful advice!
