New Rig!! need some advice

Sign in to disble this ad
so i got my first rig, Its a USA made Ampeg 410HE + Ampeg B2R (the head came with a Road Ready Case) , i got it for $500 on c's-list, sounds great! but i seem to notice that the higher the volume it has a little trouble with the low end?? and the head is only 200 watts, could it be that i need to match it up with the 1x15"? that would make the head 350 watts and another question, well my brother helped me buy it, he said since he spotted me i have to let him use it to play music through a laptop or ipod for parties, should the laptop or ipod be plugged in as if it were passive or active?

First off, if you want more low end, but you're happy with the 410he, get another 410he, NOT a 15. If you'd like to stick with just one cab AND get tons more low end, sell, swap or trade your 410he for a 410hlf. That would solve your problem completely. As to plugging in an Ipod or computer, ONLY use an aux IN jack, (if the amp has one), or risk damaging the amp. The main inputs are meant for instrument level signals only. Congrats on the new rig.
