So, I have a Carvin PB200 combo with a 15" speaker. The amp in the combo is dead and I don't use it anymore because i got a Mesa 400+ that I run through a GK BLX410 cab. But I want more. I'm not much of a fan of the speaker that's in the Carvin combo now, so the question is, can I replace the speaker with something better and will it be worth it? Or is it better to just buy, let's say a GK RBH410?

Just buy a good quality bass cab. The Mesa head will sound awesome through a good cab. Putting a spkr in a combo amp is a lousy idea, for many reasons. Sell the combo AND the Backline cab, and get something nice.

I know, the backline sucks. but what cab would offer the most bang for the bucks? Just to mention, I like like my tone punchy with quite a lot of treble, round tone can I make without the help of the cab.

I upgraded my PB200 with a BX500 and a new DeltaLite Neo 15. The tone is very nice and it's still light.
