Just used at home, I havent gigged with it yet, but.........
Man, what beautiful tone. Makes my other amps sound harsh in comparison.
Just incredible. I am hooked!
This one is a keeper.

Thanks Tom. There is a really sweet 3-D quality that it has.
Now for a cab that will handle it for gigging.......

First - Congratulations!!

Second - I couldn't agree with you more! I purchased one a while back to compliment my Heritage 8X10 and I haven't looked back....absolute KILLER combination!!

Again - Congratulations!!

What's been the verdict on these as they compare to a standard CL and a VR?

See the bass player review where they make a passing comparison to the standard CL and VR. IIRC they found the tone stack a little easier to work with but thought the VR was a tad more open. Not much in it though. Tombowlus certainly rates the heritage.

I made an A/B test with an Heritage CL and a Vietnam VR, with the same cab (Heritage 8X10) and same bass (my Fender P) and I preferred the SVT-VR.
I found the sound more clear on the VR and the bass a lot more controlled (for my taste, the CL had too much bass, I had to cut them a lot). The VR, IMO had the right sound to cut through the mix without EQing, the CL was not as clear and somewhat more modern sounding, with a lot of bass, and the midrange not as forward.
